Consultation

Some couples have firm ideas of how they want their cake to look, whilst others just don't know where to begin. Either way, a personal, no-obligation consultation is the first step to designing your bespoke cake. The inspiration for the design of your cake comes from our discussion of your likes, dislikes, ideas, themes, colours and the vision you have of your special day. I will determine the sizes of your cakes and work out how many tiers you need.

I have modern, contemporary, traditional and unusual 'styles' of cake separators to enhance the design of your cake. There is no hire charge for separators.

You can add grandeur to your cake by adding 'dummy' tiers creating the look you want without the extra cake and at a fraction of the price.

Booking

All wedding cakes are individually designed and created, therefore, I never overbook my work. This enables me to devote the care and attention to each order to produce stunning cakes of outstanding quality. Booking well in advance is advisable. A deposit secures your date and the design of your cake can be completed at this time or nearer to your wedding date, if you wish.

Cake Flavours and Fillings

Your cake can consist of fruit, sponge or a mixture of the two and, if you wish, the fruit cake can be the top tier. Fruit cakes are covered in marzipan and sugar paste, whilst sponge cakes are covered in sugar paste only. Fruit cakes can be coated in Royal icing if you prefer. The most difficult choice you will have is to pick your favourite cake flavour and then decide which delicious filling you want.

All butter creams are finished with white or milk belgian chocolate to add to the luxurious taste.

Chocolate Wedding Cakes

I only use Callebaut Belgian Chocolate to coat and cover my chocolate wedding cakes. Chocolate is so versatile you can create just about anything with it, from cascading roses to frills galore. Alternatively, you can have your cake covered in a glossy ganache or it could look smooth (just like a sugar pasted cake, but chocolate).

Delivery and Setup of your Cake

Most couples require me to deliver and setup their cake at the reception venue; this is subject to availability (prices on application).

Prices

Each cake is unique  and therefore individually priced. At your consultation all the sketches that are drawn for you will be priced accordingly.

As a guide, a 3 tier 9" 7" & 5" cake would start from £278.
